Celebrating today as I am, my sixth month anniversary of my blogging era, I am becoming more ordered at last. As such, this Page will hopefully, grow as I add my newly published posts each week. HIBERNATION, ANOTHER WINTER OF DISCONTENT! - Oh, how I had wished that I would not have to suffer another bitterly cold winter indoors. I talk of rising energy costs and the cold buildings that are our homes here. The temperatures indoors are barely withstandable hence the entry into hibernation. Onto chapter nine of my book and I take to the road and visit Barcelona, my old home then spend a few days in Almuñecar where I cross paths with Abd al-Rahman!!!! I reflect on the places where we used to live and include a quote from this chapter and a photo of Mark Knopfler´s The Ragpicker´s Dream album. GARUM: THE ORIGINAL JUNK FOOD! - Well, like the trip to Almuñecar did not give me a spike in desire to find more learning. I am exploring the Phoenician/Roman/Arab past of this small coastal town and discovering some wonderful ruins and remnants of the fish salting and GARUM industries here. The whole chapter is dedicated to this his-storical meander and I show just how important those three cultures were in building up what is today´s Spain. CELEBRATING SIX MONTHS OF BLOGGING! - The post speaks for itself and yes, I am celebrating my first six months as a blogger. I look at how I am doing and what it all means to me. My struggles with SEO and trying to learn new technological tricks, somewhat slowly but getting there. I list the countries that have looked my way to date and give thanks to all for their attention. Not forgetting my book and yes, I have a bad news call regarding a lump in the breast. So, all through the writing of that part of my book, I was abstractly distracting myself!! COMING OUT OF THE COLD, AT LAST! - Finally winter is over and after a rather unusual spell of weather, I am celebrating the arrival of spring again. I am having a ramble and looking at this strange change of weather patterns both on my home island and here in Spain. A massive Saharan sand cloud descended upon us too and the photo is of my view outside that day. What a strange phenomena! Still on man-kind´s trail and looking at why we are not moving anywhere fast with our rapidly growing climate issues. Immigration from both north and south are now coming into my spotlight. WHAT FREEDOM OF CHOICE HAVE YOU GOT? - Into chapter thirteen now and I am looking in depth at how our national relations with other nations gives us more or less freedom to actually choose where we travel to and how we get there. My own status as UK citizen had just changed as a result of BREXIT. I was living these political consequences of our leadership decisions on our behalf!!! Moroccan nationals pull up our shores here in Almería in great numbers. I concentrate on their options! A LONG ROAD TO ANCIENT CARTHAGE, BUT FUN!! - Continuing with the travel options of the Tunisian nationals now in chapter fourteen titled Mixed Fortunes. I am having an `OFF´ day and find my trains of thought taking me away to Tunisia and remembering a couple of days spent there with my late elder sister. Mulling on how certain people are naturally attracted to each other and others are drawn towards each other and why that may be. IS LIFE REALLY ALL ABOUT BLACK AND WHITE? - I am covering two chapters in this post, chapter fifteen IT IS ALL BLACK AND WHITE and chapter sixteen, THE MEANINGS OF BLACK AND WHITE. I am exploring how the two colours that do not actually exist in nature have become permanent parts of our lives. Our ancestors have left their markings on cave walls in black and white colours. Where did these colours derive?? I find out and how their names have been derived too. The meanings of black and white clothing have also changed many times and I am looking at the massive impact of our choice of black and white. ARE YOU CONDITIONED BY YOUR DEPENDENCY? - Onto chapter seventeen titled THE CONDITIONALITY OF DEPENDENCY. Being as conditioned as I currently am, I am looking at how man-kind conditions us all in one way or another. Our boss at work and our boss in the home! Always having to do the bidding of an overgrown boy who will throw violent tantrums if you do not obey instantly. The Puppet Masters and the Puppets!! We all need to become independent of man-kind in order that we can make our own decisions. THOSE PRINCE CHARMINGS WHO NEVER REALLY EXISTED! - The post title is self-explanatory really and chapter eighteen, ALL OUR OWN KALEIDOSCOPES, is all about our ideal pictures of our lives and how difficult in truth, they are to create. We fall in love with an actor, the proverbial Prince Charming, who was of course, never a real Prince Charming, it was all an act. You fell in love with someone who did not exist in reality. What you then find out though, is who your fake Prince Charming really is! A Narcissist and your life changes its course altogether. WHY IS LIFE LIKE A GAME TO MAN-KIND? It does seem to me that the narcissist male, that it to say the unevolved specie that is man-kind, does see all situations in life as a game, where there are rivals and there can only be one winner. HIM! Chapter nineteen IT IS ALL ABOVE BOARD, is all following this desire that man-kind has to war against others. I am following the origins of the modern chess game all the way from India into today and keeping track of the comings and goings of the build up and kick off to the Russia/Ukraine conflict. WHERE ARE ALL THE WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP? Power is everything but who wields the power is all decisive. Chapter twenty of my book is titled IT IS ALL ABOUT POWER and in this post I am quoting myself from this chapter as I look closely at the disaster that is man-made leadership and have an in depth look at how females have fared in the top positions from the very first female leader in Sri Lanka right up to 2018. I am wondering what this world could be like were we to have many female leaders in charge simultaneously. THE FAR REACHING EFFECTS OF WAR AND CONFLICT! I begin today by lamenting the increasing temperatures and the consequent over sweating. Remembering how both the Arab and Roman civilizations had water and shaded areas as a priority. I am dwelling on how our buildings have been built to adapt to the local environment. Moving on in the book and today´s chapter for review is titled IT IS A MAN´S WORLD! Like the conflict between the Ukraine and Russia was not having many knock-on effects further afield and I continue to follow events on the shatranj board.
